*MAKING of YELLOWFISH COACH*
YellowFish Coach – Interesting name, right?
YellowFish emerged from a series of reflections aimed at creating a platform to support individuals in achieving their career aspirations.
While contemplating a name for my coaching and consulting practice, I noticed a picture of a yellow fish on my wall. The color YELLOW caught my eye, making me think, “How subtle and unassuming, yet so distinct and striking.” The color yellow resonates with us humans, reflecting our own blend of subtleties, tendencies, uniqueness, and striking behaviors.
In my research, I stumbled upon a short story by C.S. Lakshmi, an Indian Tamil writer, titled ‘Yellow Fish’. The story revolves around a woman on a beach who notices a yellow fish.
Here’s a brief summary: While walking on the beach, a woman sees fishermen sorting their catch. She spots an unwanted, helpless yellow fish discarded on the sand, gasping for air. This sight reminds her of her deceased baby, who had also struggled for breath. She recalls spreading her baby’s ashes in the sea.
Moved by the fish’s struggle, she urges a fisherman to help. Initially dismissive, the fisherman eventually agrees and helps the fish back into the water. The woman feels a sense of relief, as if her lost baby has found life again.
Drawing parallels, aren’t we all like that yellow fish? In the vast ocean of life, we fight for survival, grasping at every opportunity and seeking help during challenging times.
These reflections led me to choose ‘YellowFish Coach’ as the name. My goal as a career coach is to support those seeking guidance. Throughout my life and career, I have been fortunate to receive help when I needed it most.
If you feel like a Yellow Fish in the ocean of life, looking for your path, my aim is to support you in finding your destination.
